Fatherhood ought to be emphasized as much as motherhood. The idea that women are solely responsible for deciding whether or not to have babies leads on to the idea that they are also responsible for bringing the children up. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

272 words.

Along the history, women have had a higher responsibility about children development. Currently, this is a tendency that needs to be changed. Even if mother are who carry  baby 9 months inside them, both parents are essential for children’ minds conformation. At the same time, their influence would have an impact during the whole life.

I strongly support the idea that it is pivotal that humanity change its mind about the difference between genders and their responsibilities toward sons and daughters .People need both parents to feel safe and happy. There are many essential elements in which mothers and fathers could affect peoples’ personalities, identities and even mental disorders. That is why, I believe that most of the time, having a commitment mom and dad may help a person to find the right balance between what is right and wrong.

On the other hand, it I my opinion that women are the ones who have to make the decision of having a child or not, because their bodies will suffer many transformation that change their daily routine. However, that does not mean that they will carry the whole responsibility about the child. As I said before, children need both, mother and father in equal proportion. It does not matter whether they are still a couple. Everybody deserves and needs what a mom and dad can offer to ones.

In conclusion, from my point of view it is important that fatherhood has the same value on children growing up than motherhood has. Even though women are who own the decision of having children, both parents have the responsibility to take care of them.

Task 2

There are many different reasons that can keep a person in their workplace. Some believe that money is the main reason. To what extent do you agree with this statement?

178 words, 30 minutes.

People need money to live, and it is usual that they find a job in order to be able to cover all for their expenses; however, it is hard to say that the only reason to work is becoming rich; it is a deep issue which deserves an evaluation before offering an opinion.

It is common to hear some people saying that if they have enough money, they will never come back to their jobs, because they want to enjoy life, play sports, travel around the world and share more time with family and friends. These groups of people have the firm idea that the only reason of working is money. Nevertheless, most of them fall depressed after their retirements, because they are bored or feeling alone. To make things worse, it is usual that after long time dreaming with leaving work, when they can finally do that, they want to do some free jobs because they do not how to use their time.

On the other hand, some workers love their jobs, because it is an opportunity to develop their skills, find social recognition and enjoy their productive ages. Many people enjoy working and studying as way to feel better and to discover new things. I take my hat off to people who are able to appreciate their labor activities and being part of the workforce because they like to do whatever they do.

In conclusion, everyone has a special way to see life and in consequence they have different reasons to work, but from my point of view, the really important subject is to feel happy about personal daily activities and to use time in a satisfactory way.

Task 1

169 words, 19 minutes.

The graph below illustrates some essential dates about subway railway systems in six cities from developed countries (London, Paris, Tokyo, Washington DC, Kyoto and Los Angeles).

London underground is the oldest and largest, which was founded in 1863, and nowadays, it has a route of 394 kilometer; however, it is in the third place in number of passage per year; while Tokyo and Paris are the most popular respectively. Moreover, those two are older too; Paris metro was founded in 1900 (and the route is 199 kilometer), followed by Tokyo in 1927 (and a route of 155K).

Otherwise, Washington DC railway system is working since 1976 with an extension of 126 K, and it is visited by 144 million people per year.

Kyoto and Los Angeles subways are the newest, but with 20 years between each other (1981 and 2001 respectively). They are the shortest and less populated too.

Summarizing, there are important differences between all those railway systems, but in general the oldest are longer and more crowd.

Task 1

The chart below is a Garlsdon Town’s map which offers a global vision of that place and where there are a couple of new supermarkets.

Garlsdon is a town with a population of 65,000 people which has two industrial areas; one in the north and the other one in the south of the housing zone in the Countryside.

There is possible to find the Town Centre just in the middle of the housing one area, but a little south the whole place. There is not allowed to use any kind of motor transportation; but the railway which crossover the town from west-north to east-south is over this part of Garlsdon. One of the supermarkets is close to the way of the Railway in the Town Center; while the other one is between the housing zone and the border of the Countryside.

There are two main roads, the first one run throughout the south, and the other one run from the west-north of the Town Center to out of the town.
